SONGS AND PARADES

Hi there. I am currently working in my chapter on parades, both republicans and unionists, but I have found just a couple of songs. Could anybody please help me (remember this is the original intention of this blog- to help and be helped!) and tell me about songs dealing with republican or orange parades? All the best everybody.

STATEMENT

Just a few points I want to make clear:

1.- I am a student at Oviedo University, Spain. I have no political affiliation in Spain or Northern Ireland and I am writing on behalf of no political organization.

2.- This is not a blog for discussion on the political situation in NI. There are better places for this.

3.- I am currently working on my postdegree research on "Films, Murals and Songs in Northern Ireland" and am just looking for materials. You see, I am NOT writing on the political situation, but on the movies, songs and political messages written on walls all over Northern Ireland as a result of the troubles there in the period 1969-205 (roughly).

4.- Why am I starting this blog? Just to exchange information on the field of research. Most of it is on the net but NOT ERVERYTHING is on the net. On the other hand I would like comments, suggestions, tips... on particular murals, song and so on: WHY/WHEN/WHERE/HOW/BY WHO were these things made (in my opinion, 99% of the work is excellent art)

5.- I cannot give you much: I am Spanish, live in Spain, work here, occasionally visit Northern Ireland, have a few friends there, have some information on songs and so on that might be useful to you folks. So if there's something I can do for you please let me know.

6.- Last but not least, sorry for my poor English- I'm not bilingual, wish I were.

HERE I AM!!!

I just can't believe I'm writing my own log!! And in English, not my mother language!! Long live technolgy!! Well, folks, I don't have much to offer at the moment but in the next few hours I'll explain what my intention was at the time of creating this blog. Basically, I just want help, I need help and if possible help ohers in the field of Murals, Songs, and Films and the Trobles in Northern Ireland. More in a few hours (I'm Spanish and it's time for a few tapas before lunch!!
